Laser Surgery

Laser surgery is an excellent adjunct to traditional surgical techniques particularly in the diagnosis and management soft tissue pathology. Our carbon dioxide laser allows us to perform selected procedures with minimal bleeding, postoperative pain or swelling. We are happy to offer it to you.

What is a laser and how does it work?

The word "laser" is an acronym, which stands for Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A surgical laser, such as the CO2 laser, is a beam of light capable of removing unwanted or pathogenic tissues. The laser vaporizes skin cells by emitting bursts of radiation that are absorbed by water in these cells. Laser light penetrates to a very precise, controlled depth, making the procedure safe and predictable, while minimizing surgical side effects.
